Air/Nitrox Fill information

At Florida Scuba Depot we have a brand new Nuvair Element Air Compressor, and Nitrox Membrane System. Our membrane system creates "Grade E" premix nitrox up to 40%, so no partial pressure blending is done. This means that your tanks and regulators do not need to be O2 cleaned prior to getting Nitrox fills! This saves you $35-75 per year on the additional expense of cleaning when being filled at a shop that "partial pressure fills*" for nitrox.

We use what's called a Cascade system to store our Air and Nitrox mixes (We store 21% Air, 32% & 36% Nitrox) We can completely fill up to 17 tanks, without needing to run the compressor. We can also fill your cylinder with a custom Nitrox mix between 22% - 40% if you need something other than what we store in our banks.

If your tank needs a Hydro-Static test, or annual Visual inspection, we can do those for you as well. We perform Visual Inspections with VIP Plus on-site, and can be done while you wait if needed. However, you can always just drops off the tanks and pick them up later, or another day.

* Filling an "Oxygen Clean" cylinder with CGA Grade "E" will introduce additional hydrocarbons such that the cylinder is no longer considered O2 clean and may not be used for partial-pressure blending.

Fill Policy
  • Diver Certification -- You must provide documentation that you are a certified diver in order to fill a SCUBA cylinder. Additional certifications are required for Nitrox fills.
  • Maximum Fill Pressure -- The cylinder will be filled to its rated maximum pressure, Overfills are not done!
  • Contents Labeling -- If the fill is to be with anything other than air, the cylinder must be clearly marked with the contents. The contents must be analyzed with the actual analysis and maximum operating depth tagged on the cylinder.
  • Hydro-Static Test -- The cylinder must have had a hydro-static test within the last five years. We will gladly take care of this for you if needed. Turn around is usually 2-3 days.
  • Visual Inspection -- The cylinder must have had a Visual Inspection within the last 12 months. Aluminum 6351-T6 alloy cylinders only must also have had an inspection by Florida Scuba Depot that included an eddy current test.
  • Rejects -- Florida Scuba Depot reserves the right to refuse to fill cylinders that it deems unsafe.
  • Dropoffs -- You are welcome to leave your cylinder with us for filling and return at a later time to claim. We are not responsible for cylinders left over 60 days.
